My wife and I decided to be coached by our trainer, Catherine with New Horizons Fitness and Wellness. Growing older, we were aware that our bodies still needed proper instruction for developing balance and flexibility.

Catherine’s expertise assisted us in reaching our fitness goals. The fitness assessments, an important tool for always holding us accountable, helped us attain our goals. It was a positive experience because it was such a comprehensive program of weight control and strength training while maintaining better flexibility.

We got stronger, learned proper stretching techniques, and even became conscious of healthier food choices.

The most important thing my wife and I learned is that improved health is obtainable if we are willing to make some “easy-to-do” life changes.

Having someone like Catherine to hold us accountable throughout our sessions was a key to success. That, and the fact that my wife and I were able to train together was of great benefit.

WHY I EXERCISE

Exercising has benefited me in so many ways. I lift weights, run, swim, bike, have competed in triathlons, played baseball, and softball most of my life. I discovered as a mature adult that I have been able to maintain strength in my muscles, bones, and joints.

I also have noticed improvement in managing my weight, mood, memory, and overall quality of life. I definitely feel better and younger. My energy, flexibility, and increased endurance have also been positive outcomes. Other benefits from exercise are lower blood pressure, decrease stress, and can help with depression.

It is important to build an exercise foundation by starting slowly and gradually increasing activity. I exercise on a daily routine basis which has become a normal activity in my life. By exercising 30 minutes a day, you will see results within a few weeks. No matter what exercise I do, I feel better when I’m done. I love the benefits of working out.

 WHY I EXERCISE

Exercise is my way of life and makes me feel good about myself, and energizes me to have a positive attitude.  It gives me a sense of purpose and I enjoy the challenges and accomplishments I make to look and feel good.

My exercise benefits are mental and physical well-being, along with reducing stress and anxiety.  It gives me confidence in myself to achieve fitness goals and life goals.  Also, I have an auto-immune, so I need to exercise for my health to strengthen my body and mind.

I exercise at a gym, which helps motivate me, and I have met some amazing friends that I see every day.  Also, I met a couple that helped me successfully change my not so healthy body and mind for the better by incorporating a good food plan to gain needed weight and improve workouts to be healthy.

I believe exercise and healthy nutrition are important for everyone to increase longevity and have a happy healthy life.
